A minority business development advocate, locally and nationally, Carl
Brown has an extensive background in creating and developing
opportunities for entrepreneurs. Most recently, he served as the Business
Development and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Manager for the
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, which is the main
transportation provider for Washington, DC, metropolitan Maryland and
Virginia. He is the former Director of Human Resources for Pepsi-Cola of
Washington, DC and Senior Contract Manager for Verizon
Communications.

Among his many distinctions, Carl is the President of the Metropolitan
Washington Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation
Officials; a Commissioner for the Prince George’s County, MD Human
Relations Commission; and, he serves on the Education Committee for the
City of Bowie, MD
.
Daniel Moss serves as Vice President of Marketing and Business
Development for HBCU Connect, LLC, the premier online destination for
the Historically Black College and University, or HBCU, community.

An alumnus of Claflin University, Daniel was a member of the founding
team of developers of HBCUconnect.com in 1999.  Moss has played a
critical role in growing HBCUconnect.com from a fledgling dotcom
start-up, into a thriving, multi-channeled business venture. Since its
inception, HBCUconnect.com has grown to a membership of more than
700,000 HBCU Alumni and Current Students and is now the most
heavily-trafficked African American web destination on the Internet.

Moss also serves as President and CEO of The HBCU Foundation Inc.,
the only nationally-focused non-profit organization whose mission is to
develop innovative and compassionate leaders by promoting research,
providing resources, access and opportunities to students, faculty and
staff of all public and private HBCUs. Moss is happily married and the
father of one.

VICTORIA V. NEGRETE
Victoria V. Negrete is the CEO of Impacto and U. S. Latino marketing
expert. Nationally recognized as a Latino consumer sociology expert,
Victoria uses her 25+ years of “bi-cultural” sociology studies/expertise to
help governments and corporate America benefit from the power of the U.
S. Hispanic market. She is the founder of the Latino Economic Summit,
which was held in Washington, DC for the first time in March 2009.

Victoria’s trajectory includes world-wide recognition for marketing Banco
Del Atlantico; serving as Advisor to President Bill Clinton for Latin
American Affairs; and, earning the USA’s first multicultural Effie award for
the groundbreaking Bank One Latino launch and pioneering Latino Financial
Predicative Profiling for Capital One.

Her expertise includes research development, non-traditional marketing
communications, and community relations. Victoria has been profiled in
publications such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. She
has been recognized as  Top Latina Self Made Millionaire, and received a
lifetime achievement award from the United States Hispanic Chamber of
Commerce.
SOPHIA A. NELSON, ESQ.
Sophia A. Nelson, Esq., a Washington attorney and former lobbyist, formed
Politicalintersection.com as a new kind of political think tank committed to
examining the “intersection” of race, gender, and politics on our American
pop culture in what many are now calling a “post-racial” America.  

Sophia is a popular blogger, and political/social commentary opinion writer
who has been published in The Washington Post, New York Times,
Politico, The Root.com, Essence.com, Legal Times, & The Wall Street
Journal.  She is a regular guest contributor to FoxNews, CNN, CNN
International, NPR, and BET where she dissects and debates the important
issues of the day ranging from the grassroots to Presidential politics and
public policy formation on Capitol Hill.  

As a former Republican National Committee Intern, and Regulatory Counsel
to NJ Governor Christie Whitman, Nelson has had an up-close view of the
inner workings of the nation’s capital and a front row seat to the political
battles that make national news.

Sophia is also the founder and CEO of iask, Inc., a national nonprofit
organization whose goal is to focus on emotional wellness and developing
critical relational skills that help us to thrive in our service to others, care of
ourselves, and overall success in life.
B. ANDREA OKWESA
B. Andrea Okwesa is Program Analyst in the United States Equal
Opportunity Commission’s Washington Field Office, with overall
responsibility for planning, coordinating and implementing outreach, training
and technical Assistance services and programs.  Previously, she served as
Diversity Coordinator, Bureau of Diplomatic Services, for the U.S.
Department of State.  

Prior to entering federal employment, she worked in the U.S. non-profit
sector as a Training Specialist, and an independent consultant to
international, non-profit and private sector institutions in the U.S. and
overseas, working on engagements in organization development,
communication, training, gender and diversity.  

Her earlier professional career spans several years as a career United
Nations officer, based in U.S. and overseas institutions. She was educated
at the University of London, U.K., the University of Toronto, Canada, and
Georgetown University, Washington, DC.  In addition to communication,
training and organization development credentials, Andrea is a trained and
experienced Mediator.     
JENNIFER P. STREAKS, ESQ.
Jennifer P. Streaks, Esq. is a financial services attorney in Washington, DC
who has more than a decade of finance, investment management, and
securities experience.

Ms. Streaks entered the financial industry as an analyst with the National
Association of Securities Dealers, where she was on the front-lines problem
solving crucial developments such as insider trading and market
manipulation. She continued her career in the financial sector as legal
counsel in both the securities and banking industries for major companies
including KPMG, LLP where her client list included Merrill Lynch, Fleet
Boston Bank and Legg Mason. Two of Ms. Streaks’ primary responsibilities
included interfacing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and
developing financial and ethics programs to protect investors.

Jennifer Streaks was appointed by President George W. Bush to the bi-
partisan President’s Commission on the United States Postal Service, on
which she vetted corporate governance and finance matters resulting in a
final report, including recommendations, presented to Congress. In that
capacity, Ms. Streaks monitored hotbed issues such as the Sarbanes-Oxley
Act, corporate ethics and financial accountability.
KESI STRIBLING
CEO & Chief Strategist of KSG Strategic Consulting, Kesi helps clients
improve, promote, and sustain their businesses. The company’s three areas
of business include strategic planning & alliance building; marketing & public
relations; and, training & development. Kesi spends a lot of time helping
businesses adapt their business strategy and strategically market themselves
during a particularly challenging economy. Kesi is a noted consultant,
freelance writer, and frequent guest speaker on business strategies, strategic
alliance building, marketing, and training and development. She is also the
founder of 100 Days In, a movement designed to connect stakeholders to
the change we need.

For more than a decade, Kesi has advised corporate and nonprofit leaders.
Most notably, she served as Senior Advisor to the President of the American
Red Cross in the areas of communications and marketing; strategic planning;
diversity; human resources; volunteers, youth and nursing; and, health,
safety and community services. Kesi serves on the Board of the March of
Dimes in Washington, DC, and the American Heart and Stroke Association’s
Power to End Stroke Task Force. She has previously served on the
Maryland Compensation Task Force, Montgomery County, MD and the
Mayor’s Neighborhood Action Committee in Washington, DC.
